USAID’s sister agency OPIC was affiliated with and is just as corrupt as USAID, and changed its name to DFC in 2019, but now operates independently of USAID
Note: AFI miners attempted a Freedom of Information Act on OPIC to disclose the financial reports of the entities they funded that was waived away, claiming national security.
Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)
Merged in 2019 with other funding grifters into:
U.S. International Development Finance Corporation
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) reports to the U.S. government, specifically to the President and the U.S. Congress. It operates as an independent agency, but it is part of the broader U.S. government’s foreign policy and development efforts. The DFC was created by merging the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the Development Credit Authority (DCA) into a single entity in 2019.
Its primary focus is to provide financing and investment to support development projects in developing countries, promote economic growth, and reduce poverty. Although it operates independently, it works closely with other U.S. government agencies, like the Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
