The Jews of Babylon forsook the God of Israel for Babylon’s demon gods, especially Mammon and Moloch. The Prophets railed against their charging of interest and debt-human slavery ca. 600 BC.
Ezekiel 18:13: “Lends at interest, and takes profit; shall he then live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon himself.”
Arab historians (including Ibn Khordadbeh in the 9th century called them “Rādhānites,” and the British and French identified them in the Domesday Book (1086 AD) as “Radknights” – English tax collectors and money-changers with a sword. The City of London (1067 AD) was founded to give them a permanent money-changing lair.
